Vall de Ribes is in the Ripollès region, in the north-western part of the province of Girona. It delimits with Cerdanya in the west, with Garrotxa in the east, with Osona in the south, and with France in the north. The capital town of the valley is Ribes de Freser, which is 912m above sea level. A curiosity about this town is that there's a Granòfir (volcanic rock) formation in the urban center. Dòrria is another nearby village which is worth mentioning since it's the highest village in Catalonia (1,550m above sea level). DIRECTIONS You can access Ribes de Freser either by train or by car:
